In this video we see females dancing and wearing chains at 1.25 seconds, it sets the genre as it shows that it's gangster genre because we associate gangsters with wearing chains and girls dancing and how the lyrics as well show that it's about a gangster story as they use swear words like 'bitch' in the music video.
A reason why the institution would use the style for that video is because they would want to visually show what the song is about this helps the audience visual what is actually happening and they audience would be able to have an better understanding of the video, it makes the audience experience the life of an gangster, this may make the audience feel moved by the story and

Genre Subverting Video is when the music video deliberately goes against the music video conventions, this means that the video usually is different from the genre of music, for example in the music video called ' Save that money' by 'Lil Dicky'.
I think that the institution choose to do this style because it shows us that most artist rent the location where they shoot their music video and it also very different as it shows us the making of the video so extend the play ability of the song this means that more people as it is very interesting compare to other music video. The effect on the audience would be that they also get more information and it also tells the audience that not all the music videos scenery are mostly not owned by the artist.
Performance
Performance is when the artist singing the song to the viewer directly,for example in the music video called 'Drag me down' by ' One Direction'.
We see them directly sing to the audience because they look at the camera and sing we see this happen at 0.30 sec of the music video and the whole band sings towards the camera connotes that they are directly singing to the audience,and we also see all the band members sing individually in different this keeps the audience more engaged.

In this video we see the music video stop motion animation this allows the artist to be more imaginative and unique this is an animation because we features like cars which are not real at 0.40 sec we see the car fly this is has been done by animation because in real life cars cannot fly.
